First Time Poster...Big Decision... Help!

Nursing Students General Students

Hi this is my first time posting here and I have a bit of a predicament....

To sum it up: at my community college you must apply for the nursing program the year before. I made the mistake of applying for the LPN program instead of the RN (the first year is identical, except for LPN there is a summer semester)...well I was put on the waiting list for the program, later to be told if I would of applied for RN I would of gotten in because more people apply for the LPN because gpa and other factors are lower and since I met the gpa for RN my chances would of been better to get in since they choose the RN's first...of course I was upset but came to terms with not getting in and decided to use the extra year to take the rest of my BSN prereqs...

So last week my mom (who is also an RN) was chatting with one of her friends who works at the college as a nursing lab instructor, she informed my mom that there is a very good chance of my name being picked next since there's been a few drops already and it looked like I would get in for the fall semester (we dont' have spring entrances)....so here's my problem:

Because I wasn't planning on entering the program...I still needed to take 3 prereqs and didn't take 2 this summer in summer school....now...my question is, do I attempt the nursing program and at the same time with 3 other classes at night?

The 3 classes are Human Growth & Devel, Intro to Health Science and Human Body Struc and Func/or A&P I...I've already had A&P II so I do have some background...On average I'm a B student.

Help! Any Suggestions? Ideas? (Sorry so Long)

Thanks a lot for the advice!! I think I will go for it...luckily right now I'm able to...I don't have kids, or any major bills to worry about...I'm lucky to have this opportunity and definetly give you all credit who do it and have so much going on (family, full-time jobs, etc...)! I would be stupid not to do it...nothing is standing in my way! I have my parents support and I know in the long run it'll be so much worth it! Thanks again!

God's Word says, "I can do all things thru Christ which strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

Yes, if you have Christ---you go for it! Let Him be your strength and your guide!

Best of all to you!
