Failed first semester nursing school

Hi, so I just finished my first semester of nursing and I failed by a few points. I gave it my all despite everything. During the semester, I questioned whether nursing was for me or not. I feel so relieved that it's over. It just made me anxious and I felt inadequate. I kept thinking there was no way I'd be able to handle nursing if I can't make it through semester 1. Anyway, I was bummed that I failed but now I am feeling better. My next issue is picking another major. I don't know what would be right for me. I've always wanted to be a nurse..until I actually made it into clinical. I want to make a difference in people's lives and be able to make a living. Does anyone have any suggestions? I feel depressed because I've spent so much time on getting into nursing and now I've learned it's not for me. I've been in college for 4 years. I have nothing to show for it and now I don't even know what I'm going to do with my life. I would love to find a job that is hands on. I dont know what to do. Please help!

If you have been in school for 4 years, you need to see your academic advisor pronto. Before winter break. See what you have on hand as far as credits, and what kind of degree you can get for it. Even liberal arts is a bachelor's degree. Then you can move on to a master's degree that makes sense for you.

Social work. Counselor. An MBA. Even to specialize in human resources. You could even talk about testing to get a teacher's certificate.

And dependent on what you want to do, what makes the most sense.

Best wishes!

Thank you! I was strongly considering social work. I was also wondering if there were job opportunities for this field...I don't want to get a degree in something and not be able to find a job because there isn't a demand for it.
