ok... HELP!! I've got a pt. for tomorrow who is taking Esgic-plus prn headache. Ok, I guess it's an analgesic, but.. I can't find it ANYWHERE!! PDR doesn't have it, did an internet search.. nothing! Does anybody know anything about this stuff?

Prescription or OTC: Rx

Barbiturate + analgesic. Butalbital 50mg, acetaminophen 500mg, caffeine 40mg; caps; scored tabs.
Indications: Tension (or muscle contraction) headache.
Adults: 1 cap or tab every 4 hours as needed.
Children: Not recommended.
Also: ESGIC Rx
Butalbital 50mg, acetaminophen 325mg, caffeine 40mg; tabs; caps.
Adults: 1-2 tabs every 4 hours; max 6 daily.
Contraindications: Porphyria.
Precautions: Drug abusers. Severe hepatic or renal impairment. Depression. Suicidal tendencies. Acute abdomen. Elderly. Debilitated. Pregnancy (Cat.C). Nursing mothers: not recommended.
Interactions: Potentiation with alcohol, MAOIs, other CNS depressants. May antagonize oral anticoagulants, antibiotics, steroids, tricyclics.
Adverse reactions: Drowsiness, dizziness, GI disturbances, depression, confusion, paradoxical excitement, dermatological reactions; respiratory depression, hepatotoxicity (overdosage).
How supplied: Plus Caps-20, 100, 500
