Specializes in Hey I'm now an RN!!.

hi everyone,

i have to take an entrance math exam to test my placement for nursing school. i was wondering if any of you could help me in deciding what areas of math i should be focusing on before the testing. it has been 10 years since i have taken a math course, i bought a math review book but it covers everything basic to advanced.

there is a waiting list to get into the rn program, i met with the financial aid director on fri morning (mandatory step 1) now i have to take the test (mandatory step 2) and then i have to interview with the review board (mandatory step 3) and then the decision is made.

i really want to do the best i can to better my chances and any helpful advice that you all can give me would be much appreciated!!!

thank you!!!

I'm not sure, but I'd think at least probably basic algebra, fractions, decimals, etc. Perhaps someone else will chime in with more useful/pertinent information - we didn't have to take a math test as part of the admissions process for my program, thank goodness! Good luck! :)

i don't know exactly what type of test you're taking, but i agree with the above poster. the net had basic algrebra, fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. if they tested you on anymore than that, i would be surprised.
