Ear Canal anatomy

Hey!

I just wanted to pose a question to everybody to try and get some ideas as what to try. My ear canal anatomy is VERY tiny. The eartips on my stethoscope (Cardiology III) will not fit into my ears properly. I can somewhat hold it up to where I can hear, but that would be a problem when doing BP as we don't have three hands. Has anybody experienced this? Any ideas on what I could do? DRG has some eartips that I thought about getting and trying that are filled with glycerin and aparently mold to your ear canal anatomy. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

On the Littmann web site they say that there are smaller eartips available (large eartips are sold with the stethescopes). Perhaps this might help you?

Use a Dynamap to take the blood pressure. Seriously in ER any way its getting rarer and rarer that we take a BP the old fashion way with a BP cuff and stethoscope. I might take one once a month if that often, a more likely event is to use a doppler.

Rj:rolleyes:

Of course, but that doesn't fly in school :rotfl:
