Drug card thoughts please!

i'm just wondering how often we need to update the med cards? I belong to a book club, and right now they are offering the med cards/box at 1/2 price! is it because a new one will be out soon? how often does the information change? I would love to have this box, but i'm not sure if it will just be a waste of my money.

What type of Cards are they: NSNA, Mosby, etc.

I have the Davis Nurse's Med Deck, and I'm not thrilled with it. I like the info on the cards, but I've come across no less than 7 drugs my pts. were on that were not in the deck. The deck is supposed to have the 1000 most commonly prescribed drugs -- my patients are on uncommon ones? Not likely.

So to answer your question, I'd snap up a box that was 1/2 off - because no matter what deck you get, you're going to need to supplement it. Someone gave me a copy of the Lippincott 2003 book, and google searches work well too.
