Do you think Nurses will be replaced by technology one day?

This idea came up when I realized some automatic Blood Pressure machines are used. If that can happen, what if nurses will be replaced someday? It is already happening that many jobs are being replaced my machines. (Just a cool and kind of sad concept to think about)

If you were a patient in a hospital would you really want a robot putting a catheter in? I think unfortunately nurses being replaced more and more by UAPs might be a bigger possibility in the near future.

Isn't that already happening in some areas?

I agree with the others in regards to both not really wanting a machine to care for me and skepticism that it could do anything other than technical tasks. I don't think a robot or a machine can make the same kind of judgments we can right now. Have you ever tried to use an automatic to do vitals only say, "that can't be right" grab a manual pulse and find out it's inaccurate? Machines are useful tools, but they are not a replacement.
