Hello,

Does anyone have any information regarding Deaconess college and their online RN program? I wonder how they teach clinicals by way of distance education. I did peruse their online catalog and it sounds like they really do have an online RN program with an pn option or component.

Thanks in advance.

Maria

From what I understand Deaconess's online RN to BSN program is really good. Is that the program you're looking at? I'm not sure how they work in clinical's, but I know that most online program's will help you to find a preceptor in your own area. Give them a call & request more info. Deaconess has an outstanding rep. for turning out good nurses. I'm considering their RN to BSN program myself.

GL,

Thanks for responding to my post. Here is my question about Deaconess. Do you have to be a LPN or RN to get into their online nursing program? When I looked at their website it looked to me that you did not need to be a nurse. As a matter of fact they have an LPN option to this program. I will call them after the holidays. I was just wondering if anyone knew about this unique program.

Thanks,

Maria

Not too sure but I am curious. Can you please share what you find out with all of us?

Thanks and good luck!

Their ASN program does have a PN component. As far as clinicals, you can do them in your community but you have to go to the Deaconess campus in St Louis twice (for 3-4 days) during the PN program and 5x during the ASN program. After this semester that starts next week, the next one starts in June.

Thanks for the information. I called Deaconess and requested a nursing packet. The local community colleges seem to have waiting lists for their nursing programs so I'm just checking out other options.

Happy New Year

Maria
