Computer for Nursing School

My current laptop is on the fritz so I am in the market to buy a new computer before fall classes start. In your experience what laptops/tablets/computers have been helpful and easy to navigate through nursing school. I've had both Mac and PC so I'm open to all suggestions.

if you have generous parents go get yourself a new MAC. Otherwise, all you really need is something cheap (Dell or HP) that has Microsoft word on it.

I agree that having Word, powerpoint, and excel are helpful. If that's not an option, you can always opt for Google Docs. You'd just need wifi to access. As far as a specific laptop, I'd look for reviews on sites like amazon. Compare, and look at their reviews. If a lot of your instructors give you access to download the powerpoints (and you're just using the laptop for school and not space-heavy like gaming) perhaps Chrome books could be a good option? They're often cheaper but hold less space and are reliant on internet connection. I could be wrong, though.

I just get whatever's cheap and not bulky.

Most schools you will be able to get Microsoft Office for free. They don't usually advertise it, but I think you can search through Microsoft and see if your school qualifies or has partnered with them or whatever. OneNote is brilliant for taking notes in classes and it syncs it across all your computers, or any computer with internet access really.

As for what computer - I mean it's just nursing school, you don't need much power. Get the OS you like, with a design you like, and within your budget. All computer have the same parts inside. If you want to overpay for those parts, get a Mac, if you want the most power for your dollar get a PC based computer. lol I have been using an iPad pro with the apple pencil and keyboard case and it's been brilliant for taking notes and writing papers, and one of my friends has a Microsoft Surface and it works just as well except that the pencil isn't quite as responsive, but still fine in all honesty, and again you'll get more bang for your buck with the Surface.
