Anyone apply to Cleveland State Universities accelerated nursing program? If so, what was the application process like? What kind of grades did you have to have to apply?

I had inquired about the program, but it is too competitive over 160 applicants and they only accept about 60 I think. There is no waiting list, if you don't get in you have to reapply all over again. I wasn't impressed with their program. Ursuline on the other hand has a pretty good program from what I hear. I don't think you have the problem of waiting to get in. I am interested in their program, but I have to work full time during the day and she said that would be impossible b/c classes are 4 days a week all day. I am still thinking about it after I complete the LPN so I can work nights and go to school during the day.

Thanks for the info...I wonder what the criteria is to be "competitive" I have seen it based on GPA of old degree, GPA of prereq's etc...

Is the LPN program you are talking about full time? When does that start?

Yes, I'm not sure about the competition. I don't like that if you're not selected you have to start all over again.

The LPN program will start in October. Its for 10 months and they have full time during the day and also evening/weekend, which is what I will be doing. I have completed most of the general classes, so I won't have a lot to do the first semester. Classes are held Tuesday through Friday and Saturday class is 8-2, I think that's a clinical. If you have taken a lot of the general courses then you won't have to go everyday. I am going to finish as much as I can online, so I won't be in class every evening. I can send you more information if you are interested.
