Calculating your major GPA

I used to not be a believer in calculating a GPA for a specific major, but I have noticed from reading HR websites that this is getting to be more and more of an accepted practice, especially for students that changed majors, had tons of irrelevant classes, or performed extremely well in their major.

My question, is now to calculate the GPA for the nursing major.

As everyone knows, with every little exception between schools, we all take A&P, Pharmacology, Health Assessment, and of course, our nursing courses.

But my question is...when calculating a GPA for your major, would you also include all required classes for your major such as English, Biology, etc? Or would you just do the nursing classes, A&P, pharmacology, and that's it.
