Burnout right before finals??

I have my A&P final tommorow and I cannot, for the life of me, motivate myself to study!

I have a 95 average in the class so even if I fail the final I'll still pass the class, but I do want to maintain my average...you need a 94 or better to have a 4.0, and that was my goal for the semester, but if I get anything below a 95 that will put me under. That should be enough to motivate me but I'm just getting increasingly bored and distracted the longer I "study"

Does anyone else have this problem around final time? Any suggestions to make studying stuff that you pretty much know already but just need to brush up on more interesting??

I had the same problem over the summer with anatomy. Towards the end of the class I had to make myself study. Just do it though, you'll feel better when you get that 4.0. I had to get an 81% or higher to keep my A on the last test. I figured if I didn't receive an A in the course I'd be so ****** off at myself for it.

Just keep that frame of mind and you'll find motivation.

I get it every semester - "the eff its". Just smile real pretty get a glass of wine and study. Then get up tomorrow and study again. Just try to remember that it's almost over and you can just "eff it" in another week or so :wink2: Hope this helps!

Well I figured out a trick last night...I went over the review questions and pictured my meanest CI asking me them, with a smug little smile on her face as she waits for me to get it wrong so she can embarrass me in front of the group (this happens often, can't you tell?)

Unfortunately I didn't start really studying untill 9pm...was up till about 4. Whew! I ended up keeping my 4.0 but I'm never doing that to myself again...my Funds final is next Tues and I'm starting my studying NOW!

Thanks for the words of motivation! :D

Congrats on motivating yourself to study!

At the end of our accelerated BSN program, a bunch of us were "hitting the wall.":banghead: It was like our internal apathy meters were maxed out:bluecry1:. Like you, I had done well in my classes, but just wanted to say "to heck with it." Making things even better was the fact that our HESI exit exam was held during finals week.

I ended up studying just enough so I didn't feel like a total slacker, but didn't spend tone of time on last minute cramming.

Treat yourself to some time off every now & then. You deserve it!

Congrats on starting earlier :-) One thing I've done with friends when we're all fried and just can't study anymore is play trivial prusuit but use the flash cards we've made to study with as the quetions. Makes it a bit more fun, and you still get a lot of material covered.
