I am starting my first semester of nursing school. I went to buy some of my books today. I couldnt beleive all of the books we have to have for 2 classes. They are all huge thick boooks. I am taking Nursing fundamentals and math and dossage calculations. Here is a list of the books required.

Math for Meds Dosage and solutions 8th edition.

NUR 1111 Math and dosage calculation packet.

Fundamentals of nursing.

Clinacal nursing Skills and Techniques.

Davis drug guide for nurses.

Labratory & Diagnostic test & nursing implications.

Tabers, cyclopedic Medical dictionary.

ADN Student Hand Book

Basic Life support for Health Care Providers.

This comes up to over $700 in just books.

Do any of these look familiar for your program.

Does every one have such a large list for there first semester.

Wait until you see the Med-Surg book.....over 2000 pages & weighs at least 15 lbs. It's crazy!

Thank God for small favors! I went to by my books a week ago (there are 12 books for just the nursing classes) and discovered that the instuctors ordered them all in PAPERBACK! So they are not hard on my back, just on my pocketbook!

I had the same thing happen to me the beginning of the summer semester....I was starting to have back pains....I got a bag with wheels (and that is still heavy to pull).....

Get a bag with wheels....don't mess your back up carrying books....
