Blinn Fall 2015 Admissions

Nursing Students General Students

Hey everyone! I'm currently a student at Blinn College in Bryan and I am applying to the nursing program and hope to start in the fall. I was wondering what kind of GPA and TEAS score would keep my competitive. I will have all of my pre and co requisites done, my GPA worst case scenario will be about a 3.35, and I made an 80 on the TEAS. My dream is to go to nursing school and I will do anything to better myself to get into the program at Blinn College.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I got in! My GPA was a 3.125 at the time I applied, and I thought it was going to go up. However, I lost my grandfather and my grades are definitely not going to go up. I did end up dropping A&P II and will probably get a C in microbiology. Do not get upset if you do not get a provisional acceptance letter in the first round. I had a friend that got the letter in early April and I did not. So we both started asking around and found out I was neck and neck with at least one person. They did another round of provisional acceptance letters and I got one. Again, do not get upset if you are not in the first round of provisional acceptance letters. Hope this helps anyone else applying to the program! :)

When did you receive the letter? I applied to the program too and I believe I have about the same GPA as you.

Also, how did you find out you were neck and neck with someone else? Who did you talk to?

I received my letter via email yesterday. I was provisionally accepted too. I just have to wait to finish this semseter. I am taking A&P II and Micro. I've got a high A in A&P but I've only got like a 75 in micro. We have 3 tests left so I'm kind of freaking out. Its the only class standing between me and nursing school. I'm so excited!! I'm trying to learn all I can about the ADN program at Blinn. I don't really know that much about it.

What kind of score did you get on the TEAS test?

I think I got an 89 overall

What did your final grades end up being if you don't mind my asking

I ended up with a B in micro and an A in A&P I and II. Thank goodness!! Thanks for asking!

No problem! Congrats on getting in hope you do well!

Did yall make the grades you needed to officially get in?

I just found out yesterday that I was accepted. I was an alternate and a spot opened up :)

I havent officially been accepted I don't think. I got the grades I needed. And my blue card has been sent in the mail. As far as I know, all I have to do is get my blue card to the nursing admissions at the school and then my provisional acceptance turns into official acceptance I believe. And congrats on getting in!
