ATI?!?!

Hello all,

I am in my third semester of nursing school, and am trying to pass my Peds and ob rotation, and there is one big problem. During my preceding semesters, we used ATI as a supplemental resource, we were given the books, took the test, and pass or fail it really didn't affect our grades, so honestly we never took ATI seriously.

Now come third semester my school decides to implement this system basically saying that if you do not pass the ATI with a 70 you cannot move on. You have to retake the course along with it's clinical hours. I took my pediatrics test and scored a gut wrenching 56.7%. I also failed ob with a 61.9%. Thankfully they are giving us another chance which I am grateful for because I have a month to really focus on the content. But my question is what in the world can I do as of now to pass these ATI's with a 70%? (mostly peds) I am a little more confident with OB, but I feel as though Pediatrics is a real struggle for me. Anybody have advice, programs, ect that I can use to pass this test? Only 8% people passed peds in my class!!!

Thank you.

1) Read the ATI book associated with the subject matter. The online PDF version (available at atitesting.com) is free. You can get used (currently one version behind) very economically at Amazon.com

2) If you have access to the practice tests, take the practice tests (A and B), and then do the focused review / remediation.

3) There's a free app called "RN Mentor" by ATI where you can do NCLEX-RN based questions on the various ATI areas that offers good practice.

I really don't like ati, the website sucks, its always laggy even on the best of connections and you get randomly disconnected. I recently took the fundamentals proctored exam. I clicked submit and it kicked me off. Had to re-log and hope to god my test took. It did but it still scared me. You would think for all he money you pay for the service it would work a little better.

I wish I knew. Currently taking Mental Health ATI practice proctor exams and failing them...badly. I did alright in my mental health classes but for some reason I suck at ATI. I hate it. I planned on taking an NCLEX review course after graduation before taking it because I know I suck at these type of test.

I'm not sure if it's the wording, content, or I just have this negative reaction towards ATI.....because our first semester we had to do the Learning Skills and do the quizes at the end and make 100 percent. You were never giving the correct answers on the exam so you had to figured it out....it took hours for me to make 100 on those quizzes which took time out of studying for my course, so I instantly grew a hatred for ATI.

Last semester and this semester, they weren't allow to use ATI to go towards our grade (Thank God!) but we had to take Mental Health Proctor exam and if we don't get a Level 2 then we have to remediate (sp?) (I don't want to remediate) but luckily it isn't added to our final grade.

The only thing is I think the board decided to allow ATI to be a grade for next semester, which is scary because I haven't got a grip on how to do these ATIs :banghead: , plus it's my last semester!

So update from my last post. I got an 74% on my Mental Health ATI Proc which is a level 2! As someone who constantly makes low on ATIs....I just redid the practice test like several times and partly went over the focus review (If you get a 40...it basically wants you to read the whole book lol). I am thinking the catch with ATI is get use to how it's worded....
