Are there Rn to Crna schools?

Hi I am currently in an ADN program and I am trying to explore my options. I want to go for my masters, CRNA is my first choice, Np is my second. I have found RN directly to Np programs consisting of about 3 years, but no RN to Crna schools. I should also probably mention I do not have a Bachelors in any other field. I know going for my Bsn after school is an option, but it was mentioned at my school that the RN to your masters is a time and money saver. thanks for the help!!!

You would need ICU experience to be able to do RN to CRNA... I have seen some that are essentially RN to MSN programs but they all still require ICU experience and/or a previous bachelors (I think one may have awarded the bachelors mid program).

I agree with Beachy -- you are going to have to get the experience first in a level 2 or level 3 ICU and could use that time to get your BSN.. This would open up many more potential programs for you to consider.

Best of luck.

Unfortunately, 1 year of ICU experience is required. It isn't possible to simply go from one school to another (I have heard of NP schools allowing this...in some locations. But this is unheard of in CRNA programs) But good news in that -- is that it is possible for ADNs to get jobs in ICUs. So work at an ICU (try to be careful which ICU you choose -- mainly programs do not accept PICU or NICU experience - many preferring SICU, MICU, Trauma ICU, CVICU) At the time, you can work on getting another needed requirement - a BSN (or MSN is good too)! Making money at the same time, getting things done! And I'm sure if your Bachelors in that other field is health-related (specifically something like Chemistry --- it will definitely get you noticed) While many programs prefer about 2-3 years of experience, it isn't all that unheard of/impossible to get into a program with 1 year experience! Hope I could help :)
