Silly me... with 10 months to go in my LPN program, my brother gets sick and I take a leave of absence. I did this because I know I'm going to be worried about him (Older sister's job is to worry about the younger sibs, right?), working full time, and school with an instructor that I despise (not to mention can't teach, plays favorites, and well, let's just say I'm not one of them because I won't kiss her butt and cowtow), I knew that if I even attempted to carry one more thing, something would give. I didn't want it to be my grades.

Sooo... I took a leave of absence until next March, when I can join this year's part time class when they pick up Med Surg.

Then I started thinking... I already have a BS in Journalism, why not just go on for the BSN while I'm waiting for next year to roll around.

I sent in applications... one is full for Fall unless you have an RN already. The other I haven't heard from yet.

I'm on pins and needles.

Does anyone know how long this process takes? At LPN school, I knew a week after I took my NET test that I was accepted.

I really hate being a Nervous Nellie.

My school e-mailed me my acceptance the first day they started reviewing applications. However, they only look at GPA so the "admissions process" pretty much involves hitting "sort." Once a few people from the first 48 declined, they accepted the next few on the list, so some people found out significantly later than I did.

Most of the time, it depends on when the deadline to apply is. At my school (BSN), the deadline was March 1st. They started sending out acceptance letters the first week of April. Declines went out after that. Good luck, I hope you get in. I think it's a much better plan to get your BSN than your LPN if you already have a bachelor's degree. Also, why not apply to an accelerated?

At my school, the nursing school applications (for both the traditional and accelerated tracks) were due on Feb. 1st, and I got my letter for the accelerated program halfway through March. People who applied and got accepted into the traditional track BSN got their letters two weeks later at the start of April. I agree that you should look into an accelerated program since you already have a degree!! :)

Acclerated might be too much of a strain.. can only go part time because I am sole support and I need to work.

Checked my bank and the check for the application fee hit my account on April 30.

Still no word from them though.

The waiting is the hardest part....

I know it's really hard to wait. Try to keep your mind off it as much as you can. I hope everything works out for you.
