hello,
i am a grad of an accredited RN program in california but i am lacking the algebra credits for my AS degree. i am currently taking this course for the 2nd time to pass with a C. OK, so i am having a hard time in this math class and i am now considering taking the CA. RN boards as a," california non grad ". my Q is, has anyone had any difficulties getting a position in a hosp. outside of california or any type of educational prejudice in nursing. i am already working as an LVN x 8 yrs. thanks

I went through a LVN-to-RN transition program in California. I think we had one person who went through the "30-unit option" where they didn't receive a college degree but they were eligible to sit for the boards. I believe that they were only eligible to practice in the state of California. I don't think she had a hard time finding a job. Work hard and hopefully you will pass...that way, you will have more opportunities in the future.
The best to you!
