Hi everyone!

I had a test question yesterday that still has me stumped! What would you have chosen and why?

The hemodialysis nurse should keep which drug at the bedside?

A. Morphine

B. Digoxin

C. Can't remember

D. Diphenhydramine

I fought between Dig and Benadryl. I ended up chosing Dig. My rationale was hemodialysis pretty much assults the CV system. I'll find out which was the correct answer next week.

Thanks!

I'm going with C too. It's given when to much heparin is suspected because it binds to the heparin and helps the patient to start clotting. So I'm guessing you would have it bedside in case the patient starts bleeding out because I think they give the heparin as the patient is going through HD to prevent to blood from clotting in the machine or port.
