Have you ever fallen in love? If it was anything like when I started to feel something for my husband, you were nervous as all hell.

I wanted everything to go right. And, any misstep or problem was a catastrophe.

If he didn't return a call quick enough, I thought "maybe he doesn't really like me" or "maybe there is someone else he'd rather be with".

Nursing school and a career in nursing are like falling in love.

The moment that you become secure enough in yourself and your relationship with it...

that's when you can relax and that's when you can feel the love. In this moment, you become confident that you are meaningful and belong exactly where you are.

That's when you realize that you made the right choice. You were meant to be together.

That's when you start doing things right. That's when you become a good nursing student. That's what will help you be a good nurse.

So, don't let bumps in the road, mistakes, bad clinical days or poor test grades shake the love and dedication that is deep in your heart.

Best of luck to you all.

I needed this! Very uplifting. I'm on my third week of nursing school and the amount of stuff you have to digest can feel overwhelming, already I'm looking forward to December :)

Thanks so much! Very uplifting!

Many thanks. I begin school in 1 week, and am grateful for the opportunity. Your message was very uplifting.

I am on my third week of nursing and I am already in love. It's like love at first sight perhaps because in my mind this is what I always wanted. So far so good...took my first quiz and got a 22/25

You are just getting started! The prereqs are all the same, just continue on!! I started as premed major at 18 years old, thought I did not want to go to school that long and went to nursing school. After becoming an RN at 22, a BSN at 36, 4 kids later and a Master's degree in Community health nursing and then a Master's in Primary Care nursing and then a Family Nurse Practitioner certificate, I couild have done Medical school! So, proceed on, time will help you figure it out!!! Good luck!! Nursing school is hard!!!!
