  1. Go for it with all the zeal and determination. our story don't have to be like someone else's. I am currently in nursing school with a positive attitude. I am confident that I will get a job despite everything.
  2. I appreciate your response, but where are we going to get the "smallest amount" if we're not being hired from the get go?
  3. Congrats on starting your jorney. I just completed my first semester of the ADN Program. My dosage calculation test was also a 90% passmark but so long as you know your metric conversion table you should be okay. Its a challenging course but I made it with a fulltime job and a family. Just read ahead as much as you can, read read, read!! Good luck to you!!
  4. I am on my third week of nursing and I am already in love. It's like love at first sight perhaps because in my mind this is what I always wanted. So far so good...took my first quiz and got a 22/25
  5. What an inspiring and awesome story. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to share it. I started the RN Program yesterday and I will take your energy and willpower with me.:loveya:
  6. I was admitted into the Nursing Program and attended my first orientation recently. We wee told that the text book should be our GOD (I don't know if I could make a book my GOD), and that there will be no life other than nursing for the next two years. Is that so?
  7. I took the TEAS before taking A&P II and Micrbiology and got a very good grade. The science portion is mostly life science.
  8. I bought the TEAS V Practice Test book on Amazon for $15 including shipping. I also bought online Practice Test A on ATI for $37.00, the night before the test which was close. I took and passed the test with flying colors and was admitted to the nuring program for Fall 2011.
  9. You ought not to be scared. Nobody knows your true potential but you. I am starting my ADN this fall too at one of Chicago's city colleges, and I am looking forward to it. I also have a fulltime job which I must maintain at least for the first year because my bills have to be paid. Do not let anybody scare you. I have a friend in NY who completed her ADN with a family of four; her husband herself a daughter and an autistic son, both children under 10 years old. she actually completed some of her pre-requisites while she was pregnant with her son. You can do it and please tell yourself that. Do not let anyone scare you!! What kind of nurse would tell someone to do physical therapy instead? Go do your thing...yes it may be challenging but we just need to manage our time. All the best!
  10. I took that beast last semester and got my first C ever in college. I am a straight A student so that really sucked. I am already in the Program for Fall 2012...good luck to you and don't sweat it. Currently ia am taking A&P II, and of course summer classes are tough (I do work fulltime), but we have to do what we have to do. It will pay off in the end!!
  11. Thanks everyone for your responses and support. I was actually accepted in the ADN program at the city college and I will be going for it. For one thing, it is less expensive and secondly, I was actually preparing for my ADN and BSN simultaneously so I already have a number of classes taken towards my BSN. With that in mind, by the time I finis my ADN I will be probably be just one semester away from starting an ADN-BSN program. I currently work at a medical center in an administrative position, and have been networking with the Director of Nursing there and also practising nurses. Most of them don't see a problem with the route I am taking. Thank you all and good luck to every single one of you in all your endeavors.
  12. Dont be scared. if you fail the first time, you can take it again. Mind you, I hope you do pass ont he first try but I'm just saying....
  13. Thank you for taking the time out to write this...very encouraging!!
  14. I heard that Earth Science for GED students will help tremendously.
  15. I do not agree that McGraw Hill is close to the actual test. It might be close in format but not in material. There were no similarities between the science portion and the actual thing. I relied soley on McGraw Hill Teas 5 and failed the test. I will take it again February 10.
