Accidently shared a test bank

I'm freaking out right now as I shared some questions with classmates that my tutor gave me to work on. She gave me about 15 sets, and I had gotten through half of them which seemed fine. Little did I know that the second half of them were all test bank questions from various textbooks that we don't use. I've worked really hard this semester and now I'm really scared that I'm going to get in trouble for something that was supposed to be honest and helpful to my classmates. Not sure what to do any thoughts? I'm really upset at my tutor for sharing test bank questions with me and bit confused as to why she would do that. Sorry for my ranting just really scared...

How do you know they are test bank questions?

You need to go to your professors/head of the nursing department and explain what has been done, and explain the situation.

Don't try to hide the situation. I agree with the P.P. - talk to the department and explain what happened - you got them from a tutor and had no knowledge that they were test bank questions.

Part of nursing is being able to be professional and come forward about your mistakes - in some instances (i.e. Med errors) coming forward could be the difference between life and death, so displaying the ability to admit your mistakes now could give you a couple of extra "points."

I'm not sure what your school's policy is about this kind of thing, but if it's true that you got these from a tutor (a source that is supposed to be reliable) and you really didn't know these were test bank questions, my guess is that they would be inclined to go easier on you. Maybe a clinical warning instead of expulsion. But like I said, I don't know the policies at your school, so I'm just speculating.

For now, just breathe and take it one step at a time, starting with going to the professors/department chair asap.

I'm going to talk to my professor on Monday as I want to get ahead of this thing. I've worked really hard, and I firmly believe in nursing there's no shortcuts as you have people's lives in your hands. I'm running an A in the class right now and always read ahead so I'm able to participate in every lecture. I'm sorry for the rant just really want this, and don't want something stupid screwing it up.

If they are test bank questions that aren't used on your tests I don't see how you could get in trouble.
