It was helpful for me. It was like look around, these people are no smarter, more committed than you are. It definitely helped he press on. So, thanks everyone! :-)Liddle Noodnik likes this.

Wow, brings new meaning to one of my favorites "If it's not hard you're not doing it right."
"You can only do what you can do."
Helps me when I'm overwhelmed and in the weeds at work; when everyone else is drowning too so no help is available. - Aug 20, '12 by woohQuote from sapphire18That's one I regularly force myself to remember."You can only do what you can do."

and it is true ... I always saw nursing as a recipe, to which you added your own spices
There are the basics and fundamentals you need to learn and then you add your personality and whatever else you bring to the table

One very wise poster who had been there herself told me: When people say the wrong thing to you (and they will), keep in mind it is because they desperately wanted to say the right thing.
That little tidbit right there kept me from slapping many a face in the days after losing a baby. So brownbook, wherever you are, thank you.

As a new grad in the ER, this quote (or something similar) popped out at me and reminded me that it's normal to feel disorganized and behind, and sometimes it's beyond your control.Liddle Noodnik and sapphire18 like this. - Aug 20, '12 by PennyWiseOn a thread where people were discussing commutes vs pay rate and other things, someone said something to the effect of:
"Nursing just sucks a lot of times and no matter how much you job hop, you will never find that unit/position where its all perfume and roses. When considering what job to take, consider things like commute, schedule and other things that wont change. Those will be the things that keep you there." - Aug 22, '12 by Liddle NoodnikI like this one:
"Don't believe everything you think."
at first I thought it was referring to spiritually. But it could apply to those of us with psychological difficulties too. I know I can't always believe what is in my head. Not talking delusion but just the attitudes I have when I'm anxious, or depressed.sapphire18 and aknottedyarn like this. - sapphire18 and Liddle Noodnik like this.
