Ok, so I am currently wanting to apply for a nursing program but I just don't know what the best route to rake is so I am looking for some advice here. I have a lot of college credit, I almost have an associate degree in science. But my GPA is not the greatest out there, right now I am sitting at a 2.9, I know for nursing programs you are only required to have a 2.5 but I know that with the higher the GPA the better your chances are.I am wondering if it would be better for me to just go and get my LPN and then do a bridge program at TCC or something
OR.. If I should go ahead and apply to a few programs and pray I get in with my lower GPA.
I also do have 2 C's in science classes of mine, but that's all.
I'm a single mother so I am just wanting to take the quickest route to a secure job.
please, any advice helps!!
A 2.9 is really low ...I had a 3.7 and only got into my program as an alternate (despite the 2.5 minimum). Whether LVN or RN, I would look for a program with a waiting list or lottery as opposed to a competitive entry program. They seem to be becoming less common, but they're still out there.
Good luck to you.
