The hospital I work at does offer per diem shifts but would have to see if there are any openings. That would be ideal if I could. I just don't want to leave the hospital altogether. I guess I'm just afraid that once I apply that my supervisor would know that I am trying to leave and would be awkward. It would probably be best to find out what the per diem requirements are. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

I have worked the floor for 2 years at a hospital and have been recently offered another nursing job. The new job is Monday-Friday with weekends and holidays off. I also will run my own office and have a significant decrease in my stress level. It sounds very attractive but I don't know if I want to quit the hospital all together. I will not miss the shift work and competition for holidays off but I don't want to lose my nursing skills either. I have been struggling with this decision. Has anyone one been in this dilemma but has found a way to keep their foot in the door at the hospital? I would like to take the office job but still find a way to stay at the hospital in some way. Any suggestions?
