Hello, I recently start working nights. My question is when is the best time for you to take melatonin supplement. I always try to sleep during the day, but it's always hard especially on my first shift. I tried benadryl but I always feel drugged and groggy, and I heard about melatonin. Do you take it early in the morning so you will sleep the whole day and ready for night work? Can you share your experiences about this supplement? thanks

i take 300mcg to 600mcg depending on the situation. I work 3 days and 2 nights each week and take 600mcg to keep me asleep for 8 hours+ on the days I change my schedule (I would sleep for 4 hours and be wide awake for 4 more then crash) I take 300mcg if I just need a little nudge off to lala land. If you really need help getting off to sleep Phenibut + melatonin = deep relaxing sleep.

For me, melatonin will help me get to sleep....relax, clear my mind, but about a month ago (and I take it rarely, not every night), I took it and something happened that I couldn't go to bed.

What I noticed, is that you can "fight" the sleep, but it only lasts for about an hour...after that, I didn't feel any affects from it at all when I ended up going to bed about 4 hours later.
