So im a recent graduate. ive been a my current job just over 10 years. while at my current job, i suffered lumbar sprain out 6 years ago. Ive been fine ever since it was nothing serious such as a slipped disk or anything like that.

How likely is this to affect me in my new job search? Any HR people that could provide me with some insight int how these things work? Can a hospital withdraw a job offer once they find out about m previous work injury?

Ive worked very hard to ge to this point, and i would hate for something like this to be an issue.

thanks!

Welcome to AN! Typically, there is a pre-employment physical requirement. As long as you meet the stated requirements, there should be no need to even disclose the previous injury.

I had a back injury my first year out of school (15 years ago). Followed by progressive issues and a discectomy when I was 28. (Combination genetic issue and job choice, sigh). I started a new job a year and a half ago in home health. When I went to the employment physical the NP flagged me as high risk for the PT who was doing the lifting eval. The lifting eval was no big deal, some of it was difficult, but I managed and nothing else was ever said. I wouldn't say anything about it during interview, disclose only in the pre employment physical. Good luck.

Well thanks for the replies guys. It's a weight off my shoulders. I'm the type of person who worries a ton ( I'm sure you guys could tell) but this is definitely a weight off my shoulders.
