Does physician order entry help you spend more time with patients? How much? Is this a good way to eliminate unnecessary nurse work? I'm trying to figure out if this can help nurses. Thanks!

Some of our physicians enter their own orders (I assume you're refering to computerized order entry?) but it doesn't really eliminate our work because we still have to verify them, note them, and transcribe them to the MAR. I suppose it does take some burden off of the unit sec, though. Sorry if I didn't answer your question. I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing!
