I am an RN in Florida, getting ready to re-locate to Dallas, Tx. I have 2 years experience, one year med/surg and I am currently a Psych RN. I am interested in pursuing psych nursing in or around Dallas area. Any suggestions as to where to apply? And what are the salary ranges? Any information would be great! Thanks!

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

With two years of experience, pay will be in the high $20s to the low $30s hourly.

Psych hospitals in the area include Millwood, Oceans, University Behavioral Health of Denton, JPS Health Network (county hospital with a psych floor), Parkland (county hospital with a psych floor), Timberlawn, Green Oaks, UT Southwestern (teaching hospital with a psych floor), Mesa Springs, and several others.

Wow, a lot of choices there to pick from! Thank you for the information.

I also advise you to live in a centrally located area such as Arlington, Euless, Grapevine, Irving, Grand Prairie or Bedford. You'll be able to work anywhere in the Metroplex and never have that long of a commute if you live in any of these cities.

Thank you for the information. That will be very useful as I have no clue about Dallas!
