I currently work at a small hospital on our Medical Surgical wing. I have recently gotten a position on our Maternity floor, and I'm very excited! All our maternity nurses are all trained for L&D, PostPartum, AND nursery.
The reason I am posting is because I'm afraid that I have forgotten some important things about the OB/GYN nursing world, and I no longer have my textbook from nursing school. I'm looking for some resources, like a book or learning guide to refresh my memory. (Or should I actually go out and buy a textbook?) I know the hospital will orient me to this new position but at the same time I don't want to look like a complete idiot.

Your post hits my biggest fault as a nurse. Hating to admit to myself or say aloud to others..."I don't know that." You will be new, you should be saying several times a week......"what is that.....I have not done that...I don't know about that."
I went to a lecture by a cardiologist. He made a point about this.....treatments change, drugs change, techniques change. He stressed that a Dr with 30 years experience, or a new grad, can never know it all, asking questions is not a sign of ignorance.
