A family friend of ours is experiencing weakness of his lower extremities causing unstable gait at times, difficulty getting up from a sitting position and loss of endurance. He calls it "the family curse" because apparently his father, both brothers and his sister all had this unsteadiness. His internist has no explaination for it. His chiropractor recommended that he see a neurologist because of "tight muscles in his upper shoulders".

Any ideas?

Hello,

I would suggest for him to see his health care provider as soon as possible. I would not wait around. I am not going to give my thoughts about the situation because it may mislead you or be incorrect. I never guest without seeing the patient myself. It is a technique I use to protect me and do not want to be sue.

Have a great evening/day.

Yes, he see's his internist regularly, and will see a neurologist next week. Just wondered about what you-all might speculate about this?
