Anyone on this BB a member of the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses??

We recently were given our Charter for a local Chapter of the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses (AMSN). We've had fewer than 1/2 dozen meetings, but have presented 2 educational forums (Stroke and Bloodless Medicine) with attendance of between 12 and 24 people. Some members will be attending the National Convention, held in Washington, D.C. this October...(I'll be absent, as I will be honeymooning in Florida instead ).

Next year... October 2003, the National Convention will be held here in OUR hometown of Reno, Nevada!!! Pretty exciting stuff... I hope to play a part in next year's Convention... maybe even consider speaking (IF, I have the "right stuff")... definitely do what I can to show off our City to all the Visitors. :)

Are any of you AMSN members? What sort of educational meetings do you offer or have you been present at? I'd welcome all suggestions... as I'm Program Chair for our Local Chapter and am always on the look out for good material to teach and entice new members.
