Laundry HELP for stained lab coat

Does anyone know how to get tincture of benzoin out of a white uniform? I tried straight bleach and that didn't work. I hate to throw my brand new lab coat away but the large brown (stool looking) stain caused by a benzoin swab package that leaked in my pocket looks gross.

I had the same thing happen nearing the end of my clinicals. I cut the stain out and ironed on a white swatch underneath the cut. You know, the patch kit things? It was only noticed by me ( I looked at it all the time... near my collar, the pockets... ugh).

No one noticed, it looked good unless you were six inches away from it and I got through the whole deal.

Good luck to you!

A trick a nurse taught me to get tough stains out was to get a couple of drips of heprin and put it on the stain. I used it for a blood splatter I got and it came right out. She said it works for a lot of stains but this is the only thing I have used it on.

I tried a lot of the suggestions and the stain improved considerably. I certainly will steer clear of benzoin in the future. One thing I did was use white fabric paint over what was left of the stain and then used and old tooth brush to give it a little texture. That covered up what was left!
