I'm No Longer Sad, Hope Valley....

Bathed in brilliant sunshine, I stroll along the shore, lost within my memories, as I've never been before...Whitecapped waves roll by, caressed by subtle wind, licking at my feet as they roll back again...

Tourist time is over-no one makes a sound, that is, there are no people to negotiate around...

Circling seagulls scream, then deftly dive and swoop, though I find myself oblivious to the antics of the group..

Foghorns in the distance signal all is well. I glimpse remnants of the sunlight in each gently heaving swell.

Twilight on the jetty, out among the rocks, triggers all those times with you;so many of our talks..

Toward the far horizon, a vast expanse of sea, not unlike the chasm parting you from me...

Caught up in the moment, I'm reminded by my heart, that true friendship is timeless, however spanned apart.

Evening settles in now, dusk cloaking smokey gray-eternity of diamond stars; an ending to this day...

Where are you ? I wonder...Gazing at the sky. Are you thinking of me and also asking why?

Grains of sand whip past, whirling toward the dunes; night noises settle eerily, sweet lilting of the loons...

Navy dark blue velvet, flawless starflecked sky; serpentine strands of seaweed slowly floating by...

I hope that you are happy, and only safe and well...Will these memories diminish? Only time will tell....

I see you in the ocean, the stars and in my dreams, and feel you in the twilight, as silly as that seems.

Wherever you may wander,

however far you reach,

may you always feel as I do, here along "my" beach...

Thanyou for those moments

you spent within my mind,

but I must say goodbye now,

and leave you far behind....

Gently whispered breezes,

sweep me toward the night,

so I'll be on my way now,

as I can't see, to write....

You paint a very poetic picture of a major loss. The mind picture of the beach and the ocean after the "busy season" as day goes into night is very effective-I felt your aloneness......and loss........

Thankyou.....May be interesting to note that on the day I finished that poem, and gave it to the person it was about, I met my now husband.......So, it really wasn't as sad as it might seem......
