I am graduating from an ADN program in June and am starting my job hunt. I know I am a little late but I just havent had the time. This last term has been so incredibly busy I haven't had much time for anything but studying and writing papers.

Anyways, I will be looking into the various hospitals in the area, getting on with the various temp agencies and what not to help me in the job search. What I need is an updated resume. I was wondering if anyone had an example of the outline of resume they used for their new grad job search or know of any websites you could refer me to. I would talk to my instructors but they are not approachable on this type of stuff. One of them hasn't even been working at the bedside for over twenty years.

Thanks for the help, it is really appreciated.

Specializes in Pediatrics.

Try googling "resume" or "new graduate nurse resume" for some ideas and feedback.

I did that after writing the post. In my search I found a post form here from a few years back that led me to a really good website with a few good examples liked. I integrated the samples.

My aunt works for InFocus in Oregon. She does the hiring for some stuff. Not quite sure exactly what she does there but she sees A LOT of resumes. She is going to look over mine and give me suggestions. That helps in one aspect. Even though InFocus has nothing to do with nursing whatsoever. I also asked my clinical instructor (who seems to be more proactive with her students than the other instructors) to look over my resume so I can get a nursing perspective on it. I haven't heard back from her yet. So far so good though.
