Hi everybody! I am a student nurse and I am interviewing for nurse tech positions on ICU and CCU. I would so appreciate any advice you could offer on the interview process and what a nurse tech's duties are on those units. Thank you so much in advance! I am so grateful for this opportunity!

I have been working as a student nurse tech in an Abdominal Transplant ICU for the last 4 months. As a tech we make sure every room/cart is stocked with supplies, assist patients with ADLs, Accu Checks, and assist nurses in turning/bathing/transport. RNs take care of the vitals and Is & Os. Half the time I am assigned to sit with a confused/suicidal patient. I may not get to do much, but I love being in the ICU and asking the nurses questions about each patient. Its definitely better than working the floor, which I do as a second job on a med/onc floor. As for the interview, the manager already knew I wouldn't be doing much so he asked me why I wanted to be a nurse, my goals, my most challenging patient, my favorite patient, and if I planned on working there as an RN.
