Nurses General Nursing

Hello - have any of you current nurses attended school at either of these universities? I'm trying to find out more information and I would really like to talk to someone who has personally been through the program. I've been to the websites, have all the generic information down, but I would really like to talk to a REAL person regarding your experience going this route. Please PM me or email me, I'm very interested in getting some more feedback and would appreciate some assistance. Thank you!!

I am currently attending UVI in St. Thomas. I am in the B.S. RN Program. The nursing program here is 4 years and rigourous, but I would recommend it. The professors are very helpful. This school is accrediated by Middle States and is in a U.S. territory. The good thing is that there is NO waiting list and it is affordable as far as cost. The island is beautiful and great vacation spot. Any specific questions post them and I will try to answer them.

i have a friend of a friend that went to UVI on st. croix to get his RN (and i'm debating about applying myself!) and he had no problem getting in or getting a job back in the states (which was my concern). good luck with your decision!

Thanks I have lots of questions. Does your friend belong to this site.. It's soo hard to get more information and would love to chat with you about UVI specifically on st. Croix.

Thanks

Raychael

New grads that have trained on the mainland are having issues in the majority of locales with getting hired now. Things are bad all over and when one has not training over here, then it is going to be harder to get hired.

Nursing is not recession-proof; just wanted you to be aware of this. Training in a territory is not the same as training here and things can be done differently.

so we live in CA is there a program that is easy to get into when you have completed your prerequisites.. St. Cruix is part of the United States and it wouldn't matter if it was in the mainland or not.. The program has great passing scores and is vigorous in nature. After she completes her A.S. and has her RN she wants to complete her BSN at a reputable school.
