How does Financial Aid work if.....

  1. you have done applied at college 1 and bought books and registered and you change your mind and want to go back to college 2? How do they transfer financial aid or can they even do that? Will they let me switch back being so close for classes to start? How do I switch financial aid if I have already started using it? Any help is appreciated!!
    Thanks,

Well, since the semester hasn't started yet, the college 1 hasn't received the funds yet (for example, I know that my community college doesn't show until late January). I would check with college 2's financial aid office ASAP. Just because you register for classes, doesn't mean that they have been paid for yet. If you paid for your books yourself, maybe you can return them to the bookstore if you haven't opened them or maybe someone will want to buy them from you...

Give it a try, the worst that can happen is that you are told "no."

I got a printout showing how much I spent on my financial aid. Does this mean if they have taken the money out, I cannot transfer to college 2? Could I return the books and drop the classes? The office does not open back up until Jan. 5 and I am a total wreck because I made the wrong choice!! I started out at college 2 for pre lvn classes and then switched to admin. assist. program at college 1. I have always been caught between the two and now I feel I have made the wrong decision and want to switch back to college 2!!ARGHHHHHHHH
