Happy Thanksgiving

Nurses General Nursing

Thanksgiving is a time to identify what we are thankful for in our lives. I would like to start a topic for us to share what we are thankful for as nurses. I noticed that there was a topic on thankfulness about three years ago but wanted to start one for this Thanksgiving season.

I am so thankful that I have had the opportunity in my life to be a nurse. I have had many opportunities throughout the world to work as a nurse. Nursing provides the opportunity to work anywhere, in any situation, and with many different people.

What are you thankful for at this Thanksgiving?

Good thread.

I'm incredibly thankful that my mom is still putting up the good fight with Stage IV breast cancer. It's been a terrible journey for her.

I'm incredibly thankful for those nurses that have stood by her during this fight. They've held her hand, they've cheered her on, they've dried her tears, they've let the tears free fall ... all judgment free. I could never be an oncology nurse. I can hardly stand by as her daughter, it hurts very badly.

(so thanks out there, guys)

I am thankful for my husband and my children for being them. They've allowed me to succeed in being able to juggle working life while being with my mom.

I am thankful for my coworkers. I'm a new nurse and haven't been bitten yet. Not even close. I adore them.

I am thankful for the opportunity to be a nurse. I truly do enjoy it.

I am sorry your mother is going through such difficult times. Cancer is difficult. I am thankful that your mother has had some great nurses who have cared for her. i am glad that you have been able to be with her during this difficult time. Keep strong. It is great that you have wonderful coworkers. Thank you for all the work you put into caring for others.
