GPA advice?

I just finished my first year at UH and didn't start so well. My first semester I had a 2.9 but now the second it went down to around a 2.5. I am hoping I do better for my sophomore year because of this rough start. Will these low GPA's affect my acceptance to nursing school for my junior year a lot having a requirement of at least a 3.0?

No one outside of the nursing program you plan to apply to can definitively answer that ...but in general, I'd say it's not good and you're likely to have trouble with getting accepted.
