I keep hearing everyone say that nurses should get paid what they are worth, and I totally agree. I also feel that they should get paid per their educational level and certifications.
The thing I don't understand is why the government has wages set for waitstaff ($2.35 per hour plus tips) pizza delivery people ($5.00 per hour plus tips), yet can't set a minimum for nurses starting with CNA's at "level 1" and going up each step through the doctorate level (all at appropriate levels of course).
Can't we lobby for this through our organization's and individually? I'd be more than willing to write my congressman about this!!!
