Does SVT cause a loss of Atrial Kick?

  1. 0 I was wondering if any EKG savvy nurses might be able to answer this.

I know that in SVT, P waves may be hidden, and that ventricular filling time is certainly shortened.

But is atrial kick considered to have been lost with this rhythm?

HR more than 150 usually indicates a loss of the atrial kick.

SVT covers may different rhythms, but usually indicative of some sort of paroxysmal event.
