dialysis center nurses get less pay?

I also think that the better the working hours, and the working conditions, then the lower the pay because the demand for those jobs is higher. Some of the clinics offer sweet working hours, and not a lot of the "stuff" of working on the floors in a hospital.

Hey ! Excuse me ? How "sweet" is having to get up at 0300 to be at work at 0400 ??? :stone

And run, run, run... nonstop the entire 12 hours? And carrying those 25-30# jugs of acid and bicarb back and forth to the machines... and trying to take four ppl off at the end of their tx. (often nearly simultaneously), tear down, clean, and set up once again all four of your machines while your next set of four patients are mumbling about how they'd like to get on so they can get home before Christmas...all the while having to keep eyes and ears open for those whose BPs might be bottoming out, hgaving to stop and place them in trendelenburg in these chairs that nearly break your back doing so... those that are beginning to cramp, or have lost grip on their access puncture site while holding and are spraying blood all over you, the walls, the floor......... hmph !!!

No, make no mistake... dialysis is extremely stressfull, fast paced, and nonstop. It IS one the most underpaid forms of nursing, considering what all is involved physically, mentally, and emotionally.

And YET................ I just LOVE it !!! :D:D
