Will anyone be starting CSU FNP program Spring 2018? If so comment here

Hi I'm not in the program but I'm applying for Fall 18. Any advice for me? I'm really nervous since it is the only school I'm applying to.

Me too! Very nervous.

Have you applied yet? I feel like it is too good to be true. I have talked to them and their pass rates were 94% this year for FNPs. For the price I feel like it is such a great deal that so many people are going to apply and it will be very competitive.

Yes, I have applied. I am waiting for my references to send in their parts and for my BSN degree to be conferred.

I was accepted and will be starting in January 2018. Everyone on their end has been very nice.

What was your GPA? I'm trying to assess if I'm competitive enough.

Specializes in ER.

Applying for Fall 18, Graduates 4/18 with BSN. GPA 3.5, 20 years exp in critical care and ER, and have my CEN.

I was accepted with a 3.57 from my BSN. I have a masters degree in a different field, but I'm not sure if that factored in their decision. My nursing experience has been on a post/pre-surgical floor, primarily covering abdominal cases. I was very fortunate to have great faculty members from my B.S.N. that were kind enough to write me letters of recommendation. I wish all of you the best of luck. I knew if I didn't get in that I would just keep applying to schools for as long as it took. I am shocked at how often I see people give up after the first or second try. They often say, "well, it wasn't meant to be." That's crazy. Considering that your whole life is ahead of you, a few rejections are nothing. When I applied to grad school years ago, I applied to six schools. My top 3, and 3 backups. First, I got rejection letters from two of my backup schools. For weeks I was miserable. Then, a few weeks later, all of my top 3 accepted me. Go figure. My only advice would be to stay positive and skip the misery stuff.

I have applied to three programs this go-around. I have a 4.0 from my BSN and a total of 3.7 cumulative GPA from all institutions attended. I have an academic recommendation and employer recommendations. I'm anxious about getting in and getting it done.

I have 1.5 years experience in oncology and hospice. By the time I get accepted, I'll have 2 years of RN experience.

Wow, I would think a 4.0 would go a long way.

I hope. I'm nervous regardless!
