Hi, I have been accepted to the college of dupage nursing program to start in the fall 2014, and I was wondering if there are other moms and nursing students who can give me some information about the program, hours studying, degree of difficulty, things like that. Thank you!

Hi, I'm starting this fall also, I'll be going to the June 3rd orientation! I'm also a mom with 3 boys.I heard the cod program is hard just like any other school!

timbergrl. that's great! I am a mom of 3 and I'm about to finish my first semester of the ADN program at COD. I can tell you that if you can manage 3 kids, and have an honest desire to be a nurse, you'll be fine, they really want you to succeed. The teachers are some of the best, and know with the change of the curriculum over the past year, they will work with you, help you when needed, and will never turn you down when you ask for help.

The books are all online books, so that is one thing I had to get used to, but you can pay extra to get the actual text books, which weigh about 10lbs+ each. I love the online books, as I can open up the books on my iPad anywhere and read or study or do the practice questions at the end of each chapter. I've grown quite accustomed to it. There are plenty of NCLEX style questions on the online books, which is what you have to get used to. It's a new way of thinking as far as test taking is concerned, not just a black or white answer. But I think this is what nursing is going to be like in the future, we are going to have to think quick and make more decisions in the future. COD is preparing their students for this.

If you have any more questions I'd be happy to answer them for you. I am loving the program at COD and can't wait to graduate from the program and begin a new career as a nurse (although I have no idea what area i want to concentrate in).
