CNA from hell!

Nurses General Nursing

For one moment I'm going to vent about one particular person who made my job hell along with many other people. I would like to say that CNA's are very special people. They have a job that most people wouldn't have. This particular person does a very good job making sure her residents are clean, dry and comfortable. However....She has the most terrible attitude of any CNA I have ever met. She is so mean:crying2: She is a "twenty-something ghetto diva" who has foul-mouthed responses for every thing you say to her. She is a terrible gossip and an instigator. I have complained to my DON, and she said she would sign her up for anger management classes:angryfire . When she had a talk with this CNA she told her the nurses were intimidated by her and she needed to chill! HELLO? This fueled the fire. How unprofessional is that?! It's sad when not only can you build a friendly relationship with your coworkers but nurses are afraid to ask her to do anything because she goes off the deep end. In case ya'll didn't know, I work at the Saddam and Gamora of nursing homes. How can you handle a person like this professionally? I have recently left this shift but she has my friend in tears every day.

Any CNA that would do something like that needs to lose more than her job. She needs to lose her cert and go work for Burger King. :angryfire

Report her to the State if you suspect something like that, don't waste a minute. That's abuse.

Oh no!!! Someone like that would probably put ground glass in the hamburger!

What exactly do you mean by a "ghetto diva"?

I call this CNA a "ghetto diva" because she wears fake fingernails that are bright orange and green with diamonds in them. Her hairstyle is usually a pineapple looking thing with pieces of colored hair coming out like in a straw hat. She wears a 1 inch gold chain around her neck and smokes Newports. Goes to the club every weekend.....Need I say more?

Ew, fake fingernails in healthcare.

Isnt that against policy? We cant wear fake nails, and the ADN program here doesnt even like real ones that are long due to infection risks. My Micro lab partner grieved :rotfl: over having to cut hers (she always had the fancy manicures, etc)

Heck in school who's got the money to even get a manicure?

A few years ago my co-workers and I devised an effective way of dealing with the union CNA that management felt was untouchable. We called the state inspectors, told them management could not do anything, made it sound worse than it was, gave this CNA's schedule to them and asked them to do a surprise visit. The CNA in question put on one of her usual ugly performances, not knowing they were state inspectors. They recommended that she not work there anymore as they felt she was not mentally stable. She was suspended pending investigation. It went to the union, she got reinstated as a cook, but at least we didn't have to deal with her anymore.
