Biggest Misconception about nurses you've heard

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Mine was when I met a good friend of mine on the bus on the way to clinicals while in school and she was SHOCKED that they allow lowly nursing students to "work with real, live people"

Naw, we just come out of nursing school with nothing but textbook knowledge and yet can mysteriously do skills well....... :lol2:

Probably due partially to the fact that her dad is a physician:uhoh3:

I read this on another forum about (California) nurses. What a tool!

Regardless, I do work with nurses daily, and they are OVERPAID for what they do (except maybe a few ICU, Step-down, Chemo, and Dialysis nurses). The UNIONS are responsible for overpayment of nurses OVERALL. Good for them though. Suck on the system while you can. It shows the flaws to the rest of us. But unions time has come, and this impediment to competition must, and will, end.

Just like UAW and the domestic auto manufactures, which is what people have been trying to tell you.

And yes, when floor nurses are asleep at the nursing station, late at night, or on one of their multiple (UNION enforced) breaks, there are many other professions that are far more important...

Well, maybe they should include some pics!

The idea that I can call a nurse on her shift at the hospital and ask her for guidance in caring for my patient

who she may have never met.

I said, "I might as well pay her for that." I would be driving her insane.
