Any info on per diem/pool nursing?

Hi all,

I am currently a staff nurse, full-time. However, I am in an NP program (online) and have been super burnt out lately. I am strongly considering going per diem/pool until my program is completed. However, I know that lack of health benefits is a big deal. For the per diem nurses, how have you managed to get benefits on your own (I am not married). Also should I do this through a hospital or through an agency. Any info on the ins and outs of per diem pool nursing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
