O.K. now its Amiodarone.

The books say to bolus with 300mg w/ 20 - 30ml NS or DW then can repeat w/ 150mg q 3 - 5"

I don't know what a bottle of it looks like, just the gtt.

Where I work it comes 450mg/250cc = 1.8 mg/ml.(the bottle for continous infusion).

I have learned the calc formula to set up the rate her hour on the gtt. but what and how does one figure out the bolus? Do you IVP or mix in a PB.

I am a newbie to critical care, my time is running out and the exiperences have not all happened. Better now to solve in my notes then to be in a real jam  Thanks, Kit Don't know what I would do w/o all of you nurses and students w/ math power!!!

I am so glad we have pharm techs on floor! We put the calculations into a program and work together! WHEW!

If I had to rely on myself for the math...I would go nuts!

"Hey..they said there would be no math!"...LOL!!!!!!!!!
