Hello,

Please I have a question, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I have a Masters degree in Health Administration (GPA 3.9) with a specialization, and just completed my ADN degree (GPA 4.0), will it be possible to get a job in Houston Texas, or would I need to get a BSN? Please advice.

Thank You

It is is a Magnet facility, you will end up needing the BSN. I started with an ADN and a Masters in Teaching as well as BS in Biology. The best part is that all i had to take was min or nursing courses to finish BSN. Did online at a state University in one calendar year.

Thank you so much for responding, I appreciate it.

Do you think a magnate hospital may hire me while I work on receiving my BSN, which I'm planning on doing this Fall? I'm actually hoping to apply for GN residencies, so I'm looking for hospitals where my chances may be better.

You just have to apply and see. Not all magnet facilities require a BSN. That's a myth. But many facilities will require you to get a BSN in a period of time.

It all depends on the hospital. Many hospitals are not even trying to renew their magnet status because it pretty much means nothing. It has to do with RN retention more than anything. You will just have to contact each hospital and see what their job listings require.

Awesome!!! Thank you so much, I appreciate your response. I will go ahead and apply and see what happens, fingers crossed!!!

Thanks again!!

Ours does not require a BSN but you have to commit to starting within 2 years. Another hosp does not hire non-BSN and yet another requires it be completed within 2 years.

That is such good news!! I am ready to start my BSN asap!!! Please can you pm me? I would like to get information about the facility that would hire me while I'm working on my BSN.

Thank you so much
